Project Overview:
Tolteca Creative Community will be a new 17-acre Motion Picture and
Music Academy which will house and offer the following:
flexible and affordable space designed for the creation of current media content and for the future of content production
TOLTECA STUDIOS is a Southside Creative Community nexus empowering the Cultural Narrative and the economic development of San Antonio's south side.
TOLTECA Creative Community will house Tolteca Studios Productions, Amore Music Academy and will be home to the San Antonio College (SAC) Film Program for about 200 Students and 10 instructors. A Memorandum of Understanding between Tolteca Studios and SAC will include a long-term lease that will enable student access to the studios and professional production equipment.
The Radio, Television, and Film Program at SAC has a long successful history and the expansion of its Film Program to a working Production Studio would be invaluable to the education and success of its students and graduates.
Tolteca Studios will be developed in several phases to include synergistic uses such as a commercial retail center, additional production space, and back-lot functions. Phase One will include utilities, site work and infrastructure, roads, and green space.

A state-of-the-art motion picture and sound production center on a 17.5 acre site it is just moments away from the bustling Southside Community and 15 minutes from downtown.
The LEED-Certified facilities include Production Offices, Sound Stages with green screens and cyclorama wall, Digital Sound Recording Suites, Post-Production suites, Screening Room, and premier Theater, and Performance Venues. The site will be purchased outright and will be developed over 12 to 24 months.
Design requirements will include sustainable, energy-efficient, low-maintenance construction, cutting-edge IT infrastructure, and ample shaded outdoor and indoor common spaces for casual interaction and cross-pollination of creative activities.
Security systems and a gatehouse entry will provide levels of secure access to buildings and parking lots. Native and drought-resistant vegetation will complement the landscaping and provide friendly places to escape or work outdoors.
In the state-of-the-art creative studios, motion-capture, green screen, and immersive / 3-D production activities will support next-wave Digital Media production for the filmmakers and IP content creators of the New Millennium.
These features will position Tolteca Studios as the preeminent Professional Commercial Production and Entertainment Industry Production center for the region. Though some entertainment industry leaders operate in Austin and surrounding areas, there are currently very few capable facilities in Central Texas. Tolteca Studios will attract them to San Antonio; thereby become a key catalyst in job creation, generating a huge economic impact for the region. Meanwhile the workforce development, through a Higher Education constructivist learning setting, will allow Tolteca Studios to help the San Antonio Community create its own unique Voice in the Digital Narrative of the future
